While heading home from our trip to Arizona, we decided to make a little pit stop in Pioneertown, located off Hwy 247 northwest of Joshua Tree and near Yucca Valley. This town was established in 1946 when actor Dick Curtis shared his dream for a "Living Breathing Movie Set". Seventeen investors including Curtis, Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, and others each invested $500 and incorporated. The company then purchased 32,000 Acres of land which would soon be known as Pioneertown.
